For many years youth ministry was seen as the primary place of faith development for youth. We do not see ourselves in that role. Instead, we see ourselves as another tool for our families and youth to have in order to create a life-long commitment to Christ. Parents, you are the chief tool used to develop your children into people of faith. It is our desire to Text Box: be a part of this process of faith development, though. We long for our youth to leave this body as adults with a strong commitment to serve Christ and His church. In the meantime, we want our youth to be active in serving this body and the community. Our youth are the future leaders in the church, but they also have a crucial role in the body today. We are continually encouraged as we Text Box: spend time with your kids and watch them grow up in their faith. You are doing a good job! We love this family and love working with the kids and families. If you are a teen or pre-teen, we want you to know how important you are to us. If there is ever any way we can help you, please let us know. We look forward to many more years of service with the Hamby family.
Text Box: more a rock had tumbled and fallen, the smoother it was.
The association was made between the rocks and lives of people. Some are smooth and have been molded by God. Others are rougher because God is still at work. Needless to say, all of us were able to take a little reminder home Text Box: By Sheldon DeVries
On Sunday morning Jean Campbell had a container full of little rocks. The rocks were different shapes, colors and sizes. Although different, all had an engraved cross on them. Some were smooth, some had rough edges, some were bright and others darker. She said that the Text Box: with us: no matter what size, shape, or color we are spiritually, we all wear the IMAGE of Christ. It is engraved in our lives and etched in the stone of our hearts. Perhaps the reminder could be that in order to see Christ alive and risen in our lives, we need to "roll away the stone."
