On Friday, April 16th, our elders hosted a dinner in honor and appreciation of our teachers. This gave our eldership a chance to say thank you for the hard work that many of our members put in over the year. The dinner was a feast of fried catfish and chicken complete with all of the fixings. The meal was capped off with build-your-own ice cream sundaes.

Following dinner, Mark Coley, principal of Abilene Christian High and athletic director, was invited to share some words of encouragement. He urged everyone to take advantage of the opportunity they have to shape the faith of our children. After his words of encouragement, our elders and ministry leaders stressed how blessed we are to have willing volunteers to teach each week.

Jon and Rebecca Bos, who lead the children's class ministry, have been overwhelmed by the number of those willing to be involved. As a result of the number of volunteers, we are able to rotate in fresh faces for all of our children's classes each quarter. This allows the children to interact with a number of our members and gives our teachers a chance to recharge before entering the classroom again.

If you have not witnessed the excitement going on in our children's classes, you are encouraged to take a look. Please make a point to encourage our teachers each time you see them.
