Commitment is vital to any healthy relationship and especially in our relationship with the Savior. I believe if we are truly committed to following Christ, this dedication will overflow into our earthly relationships as well. It will be evident in how we engage in church activities and serve the body, no matter how small or large the task. It will bless our family and friends who are secure in our devotion.
My love for Wes and our children provides strong motivation for loyalty, but ultimately, it is my commitment to Christ that strengthens these bonds. God has joined us together, and being unfaithful to Wes would equal being unfaithful to God.
Wes demonstrates his commitment through the gift of time. He and I play racquetball or go out to eat during our lunch hour. We enjoy countless hours together as a family, letting our kids know that they are important to us, and that we are committed to them, to God, and to each other. In a selfish world that doesn't seem to comprehend the meaning of commitment, I want to show my children that this steadfast virtue is essential for godly character.
