After the recent death of my father my family talked about our memories of him, and we all agreed on the fondest memory. Our father's greatest desire for us was that we walk hand in hand with Jesus. The Youth and Family Prayer Group is starting off the New Year by using Deuteronomy 6:4 - 9 as our prayer focus for the month of January. What speaks to me most in this passage is the emphasis on making God part of your daily life. Parents, you are by far the greatest spiritual influence on your children. Children are influenced spiritually by a number of people, but statistics show that the most lasting impression left on children is by their parents. Our challenge for you this year is to be deliberate in building a home where God is an integral part of family life. Passing on the heritage of your faith is the greatest legacy you can leave your children.
